The next Cinema Politica screening is of the 2024 documentary, Where Olive Trees Weep!
Maurizio and Zara Ralitza Benazzo’s film follows Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass as they explore ancestral lands and the deep traumas they carry. It is a story of activism, healing, and awareness. "Where Olive Trees Weep offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation. It explores themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice." The event takes place at 5:30pm on January 30th in the Gallery Hall of TFDL. Entry is free for students, and by food bank donation for the public. |
